2- Discover what is hidden behind the famous light of Sorolla
When we think of the Mediterranean, the first thing that comes to mind may not be its transparent water, its warm temperature, its beautiful landscapes or its rich culture. The Mediterranean is synonymous with light, and its sun eclipses everything else with the intoxicating power it exercises over anyone who falls on these lands. Joaquín Sorolla, our most international painter, knew how to capture it like no one else and was in charge of spreading this image throughout the world more than a century ago. La Caleta, with its turquoise blue water and white cliffs, knows how to trick the sun into giving it its best version, reproducing the luminosity of the magnificent paintings by the Valencian artist. Follow the steps of the protagonist, of, “Walk on the beach” or “El niño de la barquita” and capture with your camera the essence of the Mediterranean.
Did you know? La Caleta, is also known as Cala Higuera, due to the agricultural past of the area, which is another of the wonders of "La Vila" and you can access directly from the Hotel Montíboli. From the beach to the pool or from the pool to the beach. What more could you want?
The autochthonous fauna was another of the themes that inspired Sorolla. In the area there are some species of herons that will give you a wonderful natural show when you see them soar the horizon and dive to catch sardines and other fish typical of the Mediterranean. Also, the treasures of seafood cuisine are the great emblem of Villajoyosa, a town known for its fishing tradition and the quality of its markets. Without leaving the beach and in the shade of the palm trees, we offer you the "El Minarete" restaurant with the best rice, fish and seafood, so you can soak up all the character of our land.
If you are one of those who seek to rediscover the great Mediterranean, the most authentic, that of light and tradition, then this is your perfect cove.

3- Do you need your daily dose of adrenaline? Then this is your cove
Perhaps you are one of those who seek to disconnect from the routine to connect with nature and feel a certain attraction for adventure. If so, you cannot miss Cala del Charco. The best time to cover the one and a half kilometres that separates it from the Hotel Montíboli is at sunrise or sunset, when the sun dyes the cliffs on which this route extends with the most varied shades of red, orange and ochre. Don't forget your trainers, because although the trail is suitable for beginners, it does run along a rocky surface with some unevenness as it winds its way along the coast. The journey begins in La Caleta, with direct access from the hotel, and from there, heading south, it only remains to cross the chain of cliffs and enjoy the wonderful views of the Mediterranean where it is not difficult to spot a dolphin jumping on the horizon.
Don't forget to fully charge your phone or camera, as you will want to immortalize the beauty that awaits you every step of the way. Once you return you will not know if you have enjoyed the goal or the journey more, you will have to see.
La Cala del Charco, or El Xarco, forms a perfect semicircle crowned by an old keep, that served as a watch tower in past centuries to alert the arrival of Berber pirates to the coast of Vileras. An unforgettable panoramic view and crystal-clear water almost always calm, will be the well-deserved reward for those who decide to discover the true essence of our coast without being stopped by the wild halo of one of the few stretches of coastline that still remain unspoilt.

4- We all have a hippie side; how do you get along with yours?
Although it was always popular with artists and surfers and lived its golden age with the flower power movement, Playa Bol Nou, or Bon Nou, has been rediscovered by the locals themselves in recent years. Almost always overshadowed by the famous Paradís, right next door, and just under ten minutes' walk from the Hotel Montíboli, this cove sheltered by colossal white cliffs, the highest in the area, offers a wonderful sandy beach with golden sand, in which to lie in the sun and enjoy the crystal clear water perfect for diving and enjoying its seabed.
The atmosphere of Bol Nou is bohemian, you will feel it before reaching the cove itself when you come across numerous vintage Volkswagen vans and sense the chill music coming from the shore. The beach bar at the entrance to the beach completes the scene, creating a relaxed atmosphere, but full of life in which to extend the day, or night, especially if there is a full moon. What better plan under the stars?
If it’s a slow life you are looking for, and you like to blend in with your destiny, leaving aside the rush of your day to day, without giving up the rhythm that your body asks for, let loose, Bol Nou is the place for you.

5- Don't miss a thing, remember you are in paradise
Its name leaves no room for doubt. Without renouncing the charm of the rest of the coves that we offer near the Hotel Montíboli, Playa Paradís is different from the others. Its kilometre of turquoise water, sand and pebbles seems to have arisen from a dream. Did you know that this beach gives its name to the Torre Paradís rooms, one of the most emblematic areas of the Hotel Montíboli?
The sunrises at the Paradís are always spectacular due to the richness of the colours that flood the area, but at dawn on the 28th of July, when Villajoyosa celebrates its Moors and Christians festivals, which has been declared, an international tourist interest, the sunrise becomes even more special with the Berber boats departing for the conquest of the centre of "La Vila" and stage the famous battle of that landing. You cannot miss this!
Throughout the summer this beach is full, with a great atmosphere thanks to its beach bars, its promenade and the open-air summer cinema under the stars. Any time is a good time to enjoy one of the most fashionable beaches on the Costa Blanca, away from the large crowds.
Are you one of those who likes to always have something to do? How about renting a kayak and touring the coast? If you are an expert in enjoying every detail, then the Villajoyosa coast knows what to offer you at every moment of the day. It will surprise you.

Whichever you choose, the Alicante coast is a guarantee of quality
The Costa Blanca is one of the favourite destinations in our country to enjoy the sea thanks to its 170 coves and beaches along with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. In addition, the quality of its waters, beaches and services is more than assured, as demonstrated by the 86 blue flags that the Alicante beaches have received in 2020.
A number of distinctions, with which Alicante leads the classification, at the state and regional level, of these awards as it is the most awarded province followed far behind by Pontevedra with 57 flags.
This recognition, which takes into account good environmental management, water quality, safety and the equipment of the beaches, among other things, is only a reflection of the effort of our country to offer our visitor the best possible service, always committed to maximum quality and continuous improvement.
