We start at the base of the crown: It is the key!
First of all, we must prepare a good space to work, which is comfortable and clear so that we have everything at hand. It is time to let our imagination fly and thus decide how the crown is going to be and what elements we are going to use to decorate it.
If your goal is to be able to hang the wreath from a door or window, it is important to get a stable and light base that supports everything else. The simplest thing is to buy a base in a specialized store, but we can also make it ourselves from straw, roots or thin and flexible branches in order to compose a ring of the size that we prefer with sufficient consistency.
It is a simple task for which we will need some skill and a little wire to hold the shape. It is very important to get a base with a defined shape to achieve a perfect final result.
Natural vegetation makes all the difference
The second step is to add the branches to cover the entire base of the wreath. You can make use of any type of branches, the most classic being spruce and pine, but other native Mediterranean trees such as olive or eucalyptus can also be used. Using natural branches is a pleasure, as they will fill any space with a pleasant scent of the countryside. Take advantage by pruning your garden or that of someone you trust and combine different shades of green, ochre and reddish tones in your wreath.
Before starting to thread the branches on the base, it is important to cut them into small pieces so that they do not protrude too much and thus it is easier to maintain the rounded shape of the wreath. To do this, start from a point and with the help of the wire add the small twigs always in the same direction, changing them to your liking.
You can intersperse a branch that contains red fruits, berries or dried flowers, but make sure they are able to stay fresh for at least a few days before wilting. And if you don't have your own garden, go to any florist or market and get a selection of foliage to your liking to make the wreath.

Now you only have to decorate!
Now we move on to the most fun part. Once we have the base completely covered with branches, getting a dense ring, it is time to add everything we want to decorate it. You can use pines, mixed nuts, ornaments, seeds, cinnamon sticks, bows ... there are endless possibilities for you to explore your imagination and design the wreath that you like the most. To do this you will need to use the wire again, along with pliers which will help to hide the ends between the vegetation.
Finally, you just need to add a bow to the back that will be used, once the Christmas wreath is finished, to hang it on the door of the house or wherever you want. How pretty!
