During the last week of July, Vila Joyosa celebrates their locals fiesta in honour of their patron saint, Santa Marta which have been declared of international touristic interest.

In the early hours of the 28th July, when the first ray of sun appears on the horizon, the Moors army equipped out at sea, prepare to come ashore in the bay of Villajoyosa. More than 30 barbarian boats disembark their troops, whilst the Christian army prepare their artillery for a singular battle that takes place on the beach and therefore avoid a battle in the town. The “disembarkation”, is great theatrical spectacle of light and sound and so unique it should not be missed.
